GoodGrip is the name that he carries as an allround artist. Besides being an artist, he also writes songs, produces music for upcoming talent, hosts several eclectic parties and occasionally takes his place behind the wheels of steel on several house parties.
As an artist he makes "urban" music. Inspired by "R&B" and "hiphop" from the early 90's he has developed his own sound which is still evolving by the day. Sometimes the beats may not sound like the "hiphop" or "R&B" sounds that people are used to but it's always soulfull. He uses various vocalists to create several styles and add something extra to his songs.
Now lets take a step back in time to understand how it al started. As a young boy he was always very interested in music and how to play instruments. At a very young age he learned himself how to play the piano by listening to music and in the meanwhile playing along with it. After being in several rapgroups he decided to go his own way. He hooked up with well known dj/producer "Laidback Luke" who had is own homestudio and who was willing to make beats for him and to make sure that everything sounded right. In return GoodGrip lend his vocal skills to Laidback Luke for the now well known "House" track "Rocking with the best". The collaboration between these two went so well that he went on touring with Laidback Luke to be his "mc" over house-music. During these two years he learned a lot about producing by watching Luke at work. This inspired him even more to create his own home studio so that he was able to fully produce his own work. After years of producing music besides a fulltime job he took a step further to learn more about the theoratical side of music production. He graduated from the "S.A.E. Music Technology College" in Amsterdam as a professional music producer.
Nowadays he is still focussing on the music business but in various forms. Besides being a host, dj and organising his own parties he is about to finish his demo that he has been working on for several years.
Breaking through as an artist is still his number one ambition and what he strives for as he will always remain active in the music business. His future plan is to build a professional music studio with his good friend and music partner "Fullscale" and keep on making good music.
